September 2023

Chartroom Chatter September 2023

Whether you’re continuing to boat in this cooler weather to enjoy the change of season, cleaning up and packing away, or heading back to school, please be safe wherever you are.

We ask member club Delegates to kindly pass the newsletter on to their club members. This will ensure that members are aware of the hard work that CBYCA volunteers are doing to serve member clubs as well as disseminate event flyers from other clubs. You’ll find one such event flyer inside the newsletter.

Thank you to all who extended condolences to me and I’ll remind Delegates to update CBYCA Chaplain Anna Davis on any Health and Welfare notices concerning your Bridge Officers.

Stay safe.

Ahoy Mates!

This month’s edition will be the last until the August newsletter.  Yes, we will all be on break for the rest of June and all of July enjoying our boats and the beautiful waters of the five states and the District of Columbia we represent!

The month of June celebrates the full moon (strawberry moon 6/03), Flag Day (6/14 – see Chaplain’s article), Father’s Day (6/18) and Summer begins (6/21).  July boasts Independence Day (7/4), Hot Dog Day (7/19), the First Battle of Bull Run 1861 (7/21) and Tell an Old Joke Day (7/24).  This month’s newsletter has lots of information, exciting tidbits and photos of our member club activities.  Remember, if you have an event at your club, draft up a paragraph describing it and send along with a couple of photos for the coming newsletters.  Other member clubs would love to hear about activities and happenings at your home club.

The next CBYCA Delegates meeting is in August (Check the schedule on page 3).  It will be hosted at Miles River Yacht Club. Make plans to attend this meeting as we will be voting for the 2024 CBYCA Slate of Officers. It’s also a float-in meeting so plan on joining us via the water on your vessel! The CBYCACommunications Team would like to thank all who sent in articles and photos for this month. As always, please enjoy the summer months safely and judiciously.  See you in August!!

AHOY MATES!!!

Well, here it is! Another exciting CBYCA Chartroom ChatterNewsletter. This May edition has some exciting news, photos and information that is of value to all boaters. We have items of interest from a member club that should be of concern to all. CBYCA will pitch in to help share the voice of the boaters.

This month holds many, many important dates. There are openings, flag raisings, and we should mention, Mother’s Day and Memorial Day. Let’s take time to celebrate all we’ve been blessed to enjoy and to remember those less fortunate. But first!!  Enjoy the MAY Chartroom Chatter! As always, communications would like to thank those who took time to send us interesting articles and photos. This newsletter is for all boaters and sharing the information helps CBYCA continue to be ‘the voice of the boater’!!

Remember those who served before.

Remember those who are no more.

Remember those who serve today.

Remember them as we eat and play.

Remember our protectors who are not home today.

Remember them all on Memorial Day.
