Nothing new in legislation in Pennsylvania
The PA 2025 Boating Incident Analysis is always interesting. I suggest Delegates print a copy and post it at the club for others to see. Make your CBYCA report to your board and members about the report and how the stories of boating gone wrong are often very close to stories you have heard your friends and members tell each other after a frightening boating incident. Capsizing is the most common accident. Skiing incidents, collisions, fires, falling overboard, and striking a submerged object have all contributed to the deaths of boaters who should have been enjoying their time on the water. While a fatality last June on the Schuylkill River was the closest to Philadelphia clubs, the other incidents on creeks, lakes, the Allegheny, and Lake Erie may be similar to boating activities you have witnessed, heard about, and expressed disbelief about. Actually wearing life jackets has saved many lives in these types of accidents.
